Gabriela and Dr. Guy were married in a small village in the state of Meta, Colombia in 2008. Prior to marriage, Gabriela studied 4 years in medical school at the Universidad Cooperativa in Villavicencio, Colombia. She has completed courses in anatomy, pathology, physiology, pharmacology, as well as many other courses in medical school.
She has 2 brothers who live in Colombia, one being a nurse and another a veterinarian. Her father was the mayor of San Juan de Arama, Colombia. Her mother helps the family with all her children. Being from a large and close family while studying to finish her doctoral degree, she made one of the hardest decisions of her life by leaving medical school, marrying Dr. Guy and moving to the USA to start a family. She became a proud American citizen in 2015. She experienced many challenges related to the economic struggles of rural Colombia. Gabriela has a very tender heart, always helping people who are in need. She is actively involved in the Latin lifestyles and frequently dances salsa, joropo, and merengue.
She is a certified by Texas as a Laser Technician. She has extensive studies/experience in the field of Aesthetics, completed several courses by Empire Medical Training, and much training by the Allergan Institute. She is a master injector of neurotoxins and dermal fillers.
Another of her passions is treating obesity as she has a highly active lifestyle and has struggled to keep in tip top shape. She believes that many illnesses stem from the obesity epidemic and works tirelessly to help her patients overcome the associated stigma and pathological conditions.
When not at work or with her children, she participates in Jui-Jitsu. Before bed she reads and spends quality time with her children who practice gymnastics, soccer, Jui- jitsu, piano, guitar, and ballet.
DR. ERIC GUY
Dr. Eric Guy is certifi ed by the ABIM (internal medicine) as well as the ABOM (American Board of Obesity Medicine). He has treated several thousand Obese patients that spans the last20 years. Because of his knowledge of the nuances of internal medicine, he is adept at diagnosing the treating conditions known to aff ect weight.
Dr. Guy studied biochemistry at UT Austin followed by internal medicine at Texas Tech Health Science Center in Amarillo. Immediately after fi nishing his residency (2001) he becameboard certifi ed in IM and later recertifi ed in 2016. He has practiced traditional internal medicine as well as Emergency Medicine. He completed several continuous education seminars inObesity Medicine, one being the Harvard Blackburn course in Obesity. He became ABOM certifi ed in 2020.
Dr. Guy is married to his life-long partner Gabriela Guy. Together they have 4 beautiful children. His wife and children have been studying Jui-Jitsu at Gracie Barra Round Rock for severalyears. Dr. Guy’s hobbies include cooking (very fattening foods!), running, skiing, hiking, and breaking up fi ghts among his children.
