Dr. Guy’s pursuit of knowledge in these areas of medicine showcases his commitment to enhancing patient care and outcomes in the evolving landscape of obesity medicine, internal medicine, and aesthetics.
For the past 15 years, Dr. Guy has dedicated himself to emergency medicine, showcasing his adaptability and expertise in high pressure environments. His ability to make swift, life-saving decisions is a testament to his extensive experience and deep knowledge base.
Upon completing high school with distinction, Dr. Guy was honored with multiple scholarships, opening the door for him to attend the University of Texas at Austin.
Originally from Houston, Texas, Dr. Guy relocated to Austin in 1986, where he embarked on his academic journey in biochemistry at the University of Texas. Following his successful graduation, he was selected for admission to the esteemed University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Dr. Guy fondly recalls his medical school years as a pivotal time – rich with learning, camaraderie, and personal growth. He describes it as the period in his life filled with unparalleled enjoyment and significant maturation.
Compelled by a commitment to deepen his expertise, Dr. Guy pursued a residency in Internal Medicine in Amarillo, Texas.
Seven years after finishing his residency in internal medicine, Dr. Guy married his wife Gabriela Garzon Guy from Colombia. Since then, the two have nurtured a family of four remarkable children: Sykora, Gabriel, Isabella, and Samantha. At 19, Sykora is an equestrian enthusiast, currently pursuing her studies at West Texas A&M. 14-year-old Gabriel is an academically gifted aspiring football place kicker with a passion for computer games. 12-year-old Isabella thrives at Round Rock Christian Academy, excelling in Jiu-Jitsu and enjoying a vibrant social life. Samantha, the youngest at 11, is already known for her charismatic leadership and burgeoning interest in the skincare industry.
In his off time, Dr. Guy loves to read non-fictional history, cook very tasty foods, travel, fish, and spend quality time with his family.
