Free 20-minute consultation with Gaby. We talk through where you want the edges, what your hair has done with waxing in the past, and the cadence before you commit to a series.
Bikini Extended sits between the standard bikini line and a full Brazilian, and for a lot of clients it is the sweet spot. You get coverage past what shows in a regular swimsuit, you get the inner area cleaned up, and you keep a landing strip or whatever shape you prefer up front. It works for women who hate the upkeep of waxing every three weeks but are not ready to commit to fully bare. Sessions run 25 to 30 minutes at ABL Med Spa, the price is $95 per session, and a planned series of 6 to 8 visits gets most clients to the point where shaving the area becomes optional and infrequent.
What makes our bikini extended LHR different
The thing that separates a good bikini extended treatment from an average one is how the edges are handled. The visible bikini line itself is easy to clear cleanly. Where most providers cut corners is the extended portion: the inner area where the leg meets the body, the strip across the very top of the inner thigh, and the precise edge where you want the treated zone to stop. Run the laser too far inward and you have removed more than the client wanted. Stop too short and there is a visible patch of regrowth right at the edge of the swimsuit line. Our providers map this out with you on the first visit using a wax pencil and confirm the boundary at every subsequent session.
We work on two devices for a reason. The Diode handles Fitzpatrick I through III with sapphire cooling that keeps the bikini area comfortable during a fast pass. The Clarity II covers Fitzpatrick IV through VI safely, including darker skin tones where the bikini area pigments more easily. We change devices instead of dropping energy below what the follicle needs to be destroyed.
The other thing that matters: continuity. The bikini extended treatment is more personal than treating an arm or a leg. The provider you book first is typically the one you see throughout the series, and Gaby and our two licensed providers all run the same intake and protocol. No surprises at the second visit, no having to re-explain your edge preferences to someone new.
What to expect at your bikini extended session
The day before your appointment, shave the entire treatment zone. The visible bikini line, the extended area you discussed at the consult, and the top of the inner thighs. Take your time and use a fresh razor. If you miss a spot or are unsure where the upper boundary sits, we will trim what is needed when you arrive at no extra charge.
At your appointment, you will change into a gown and lie on your back on a heated table with a draped sheet. Your provider will outline the treatment area with a wax pencil, especially the inner and upper edges, so you both agree on the boundary before any pulses fire. We confirm any sun exposure, new medications (especially photosensitizing ones), and any skin changes since your last visit. If you are on or near your period, we still treat (the area is slightly more sensitive, but it is not a contraindication).
The treatment itself is steady. Sapphire-cooled handpiece, overlapping passes, a series of warm snaps that most clients describe as a rubber band flick followed by a cool spot. The inner area and the labial edge are the most sensitive zones; the visible bikini line is the easiest. If you want a numbing cream applied beforehand, mention it when you book and we will set it on 30 minutes before your slot.
From start to finish, plan on 25 to 30 minutes in the room. You will walk out with the area slightly pink, which settles within an hour. You can drive yourself home and put your normal underwear back on right after.
Aftercare for bikini extended LHR
For the first 24 hours, skip hot baths, the sauna, hot yoga, and intense workouts that are going to flush the skin or trap moisture against the area. Cool to lukewarm showers, loose cotton underwear, and a fragrance-free moisturizer is the entire protocol on day one. Aloe is fine if you have a piece going.
For the first 48 hours, swimming and direct sun exposure on the area are out. Pool day, beach day, and hot tubs can wait two days. If you must be outside in a swimsuit, mineral SPF 50 on the treated zone is the rule. The follicles are reactive after treatment and the bikini area pigments more easily than most other zones, which is why we are stricter about sun than other providers in the area. A careful series will outperform a sloppy one every time.
Around days 7 to 14, you will see what looks like new hair pushing through. It is not new growth. The laser has disrupted the follicle and the hair shaft is being shed from below. A gentle exfoliation in the shower with a washcloth or sugar scrub speeds this up. The area may feel patchy for about a week, then smooths out.
Between sessions, the only allowed hair removal method on the treated zone is shaving. Waxing, sugaring, threading, and plucking all pull the follicle out of the cycle the laser needs to hit. If you wax the bikini between sessions, the next appointment cannot do anything meaningful and you essentially pay for a placeholder. Shave when needed, including the day of your next visit.
